  4. Due to the size of the 'EMPLANT.history' file, it is no longer included
  5. with each archive.  If you wish to obtain this file, you can do so by

  22. If you obtained this software update as an LHA archive:
  23.  
  24. In order to use the HardDisk_Installer script you have two
  25. choices:
  26.  
  27. 1) Format a floppy disk with the name 'MAC2'. MAKE SURE you use FFS
  28.    (FastFileSystem) when formatting the floppy.  Decompress this
  29.    archive to the floppy and double-click on the HardDisk-Installer
  30.    icon.  
  31.  
  32. 2) Decompress the archive into RAD: and assign MAC2: to RAD:

  36. If you obtained this software update as a .DMS file:
  37.  
  38. Just decompress the file to a floppy and double-click on the
  39. HardDisk-Installer icon.

  43. Use the installer script to create your new setup!  You need the file
  44. 'SetupEMPLANT' in your s: directory, and it is CREATED (not copied)
  45. by the installer script.  You also need the file 'AssignEMPLANT' in
  46. your s: directory, and it too, is CREATED (not copied) by the installer
  47. script.

  49. You also need to MAKE SURE that the FIRST line in your startup-sequence
  50. is 'execute >NIL: s:SetupEMPLANT', that the LAST line in your
  51. USER-STARTUP must now be 'execute >NIL: s:AssignEMPLANT'.

  53. Again, these changes are best done by the installer script.
  54.  
  55. If you are using a 68EC030, make SURE that you use the 'EC_Lauch_MAC'
  56. icon to lauch the emulation!
  57.  
  58. The majority of all PP&S 040 boards sold for the A3000 have 'EC'040
  59. chips, and will NOT work with the 'HardLaunch_MAC' script file
  60. (because of the lack of an MMU).
